About Pithruvedi

Pithruvedi a pious organization which got initiated in the diocesan level in the year 2014.

It is an organization open to all fathers from each family.

In today’s fast paced modern world, the role of organization like Pithruvedi mainly aims to strengthen families and the church through fulfilling responsibilities of fatherhood, promoting spiritual growth as our silent Father did. It prioritizes the spiritual wellbeing of its members and the parish, fostering a strong faith community. It also works for the benefit of society, providing relief and comfort to the poor and needy.

To you God entrusted his only Son

In you Mary placed her trust

With you Christ became man

Blessed Joseph, to us too,

Show yourself a father and guide us in the part of life.

Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage, and defend us from every evil.

Objectives

To provide awareness to the members on the paternal responsibility to form and nurture a model Catholic Family.
To discourage from the habitual evils that wreck the family’s integrity and security
To actively participate in family group activities and Parish community
To sensitize about our duty to witness Christ in one’s sphere of activity
To be part of lay missionary work at Parish, Forane and Diocese levels
To help uplift the families that are lacking spiritually, mentally, physically, culturally and financially.
To orient the members on the need to lead a life based on Christian values
To play a lead role in facilitating adult catechism
To keep the organization away from any political affiliations
To be part of pro-life initiatives. Promote responsible family structuring as per the Church’s teaching.
To form families that are centred around prayer, sacraments and liturgy
