Society of
St. Vincent de Paul
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP), a global volunteer organization founded in 1833 by Blessed Frederic Ozanam, has a rich history of serving those in need. Inspired by the incredible kindness of St. Vincent de Paul, who dedicated his life to serving the poor centuries before, Frederic gathered a few friends. Together, they formed the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP), a group committed to helping those in need, one person at a time. Their idea was simple yet powerful: to bring aid and comfort to the disadvantaged, not with grand gestures, but with personal, compassionate care. From its beginnings, the SSVP has grown into a widespread network, united by a common commitment to helping the poor and disadvantaged.

The spirit of Frederic Ozanam found a new home at Santhome, Hulimavu in 2013 when the new chapter of SSVP was started here. From day one, our mission was to offer practical assistance to anyone in their community who was struggling, no matter their background, beliefs, or circumstances.
Our vision is to be a beacon of support, providing aid, fostering development, and instilling hope in the hearts of the poor and marginalized members of our community. We envision a place where hope could bloom even in the toughest times.
